BALI Construction’s Movember Fundraising Progress

There are only ten more days left in November to help raise money for men’s health through The The Movember Foundation.

The money raised by Movember is used to fund over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

By growing mustaches and taking the 30-day move challenge during November, we bring awareness to these important men’s health issues.

The next step in making an impact is raising money for these men’s health issues. Check in with us on LinkedInFacebook, Twitter & Instagram for more on our Movember progress!

The BALI Construction Movember team has raised $650 so far as a team. With your help we can get to $800!

The Bay Area as a whole has raised $447,500!  as of November 20th.

The U.S. Construction Industry has raised $22,000! Check out BALI Construction at #6.

We are raffling off a $150 gift card to our client’s amazing restaurant ICHI Sushi + NI Bar in San Francisco to the awesome people who donate to our team.  Here is how to donate to Movember: Simply click Donate and type BALI Construction into the search box.

100% of the money raised goes to The Movember Foundation.

You only have ten more days to donate and be eligible to win this gift card and help change the face of men’s health.

Here are some great health tips and reminders from The Movember Foundation

  • Check in regularly with friends and family
  • Move- at least 30 minutes every day
  • Talk about the big stuff in life
  • Knowledge is power- discuss family history of cancer and diseases
  • If you notice something, do something

Men’s Health Awareness: Mustache November aka “Movember”

November has become known as “Movember” over the last decade or so to many of us. If you combine mustache with November, you get Movember.

This term was created by The Movember Foundation.

The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men’s health movement, raising $650 million and funding over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.” Here is information on their funding strategy.

Throughout the month of November, there are great ways for us to raise awareness and fundraise for men’s health issues for The Movember Foundation.

The majority of BALI Construction’s employees are men, so we really thought it was a great idea for us to participate in Movember!

To partipate in Movember, we have created a fundraising team . Also, the men of BALI Construction are growing mustaches for 30 days to raise awareness and be walking, talking billboards for men’s health. The women of BALI Construction are taking the MOVE challenge: moving for at least 30 minutes every day for the 30 days of Movember.

Check our Facebook and Instagram pages for photo updates of the BALI Construction men with their mustaches. Be on the look out for a Tom Selleck mustache and maybe even a handlebar mustache. The guys are having fun growing their mustaches for Movember! For many of them, this is their first mustache ever.

This is our first year participating in Movember and our goal is to raise $400! Please take a moment to visit our fundraising team page. We greatly appreciate your donations !

We are excited for the opportunity to raise money for men’s health and have a friendly office competition at the same time.

Thank you from the BALI Construction team

The BALI Team is Full of Sports Lovers

Fall is here! That means it’s time for baseball playoffs and

football season is in full swing.

From watching pro sports, to cheering on our kids, we love to root for our favorite athletes.  Our office is torn between San Francisco and Oakland fans. But we all find a way to get along just fine!

Krystal (second from left) with family and friends cheering
for her SF Giants. She is absolutely thrilled they are in
the World Series for the third time in five years! #octobertogether

Matt’s Raiders beard. Every year he starts growing a beard at the beginning of football season and doesn’t shave it until they get a win. It might be a long one this season…he is a dedicated fan!

What’s your prediction for the 2015 Super Bowl? Tell us in the comments!

The BALI  team is full of family athletes!

Christy’s son, running in a cross-country race. Isn’t his hair awesome?

Go, Adam, go!

Kevin’s niece, Juliana, had a great season with her softball team this year.

Amber, owner Kevin’s fiance, ran the 2014 San Francisco Nike Women’s Half Marathon for the fifth time! She must love those Tiffany’s necklaces! 😉

Interested in training for your first half-marathon? Read this great article.

Half Marathon Training Schedule for Beginner Runners

“Before starting any training for running the 13.1-mile half marathon distance, whether it’s in an organized race or on your own, you should be regularly running approximately 10 to 15 miles per week. If you’re a beginning runner, it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor before starting anything as strenuous as training for a half marathon, especially if you’re over age 35 or 40.”
